CHINAGAP Introduction

In order to further improve the defending ability of agricultural products safety control, animal and plant plague preventing, ecology and environment protection, animal welfare, and occupation healthy. Advancing the organization form of our agricultural production, we wish our agricultural products could fit IAF certification. Our agricultural products expert drafted the CHINAGAP national standard at the last six months in 2004. To some extent, CHINAGAP certification is a melting certification which is good for food safety, environment, staff welfare and animal welfare of agricultural production organization. So it’s great for market demand potential. This standard according to GLOBALGAP standard overall combine china actual conditions, and before formulating this standard we had accepted each other with GLOBALGAP.
Through near one year’s preparation by the group of drafting standard, they finished drafting CHINAGAP standard and formulating work of each model on may, 2005. Then nation supervision committee and GLOBALGAP/FOODPLUS signed together the memorandum. This lays good foundation for strengthening cooperation in the field of GAP and further promoting the course of combining with international rules. If compared with basic standard, CHINAGAP standard equal to GLOBALGAP standard, that is, CHINAGAP certification has the same effect to GLOBALGAP certification, and CHINAGAP certification completely makes up the limitations –local checking, language difference, high cost which GLOBALGAP certification can’t realize.
On July 28th, 2005, CHINAGAP standard solicit opinions from all people in the net of supervision committee. According to the agreement and memo spirit, it’s to promote agricultural products export and support the good agricultural product which is signed by the quality control bureau and relative government. National Supervision Committee sends off the letter soliciting opinions about developing GAP certificated experimental unit. (combining relative departments to develop the work of ‘GAP experimental unit’ and establish ‘GAP certification demonstrating base’, the province refers to :Shandong, Fujian, Henan, Shanxi, Jilin, Heilongjiang.
CHINAGAP standard (standard number GB/T20014-2005) is released by China Standardization Committee, and it will formally enforce all over the country. |
